NotchUp Founder and Chief Executive Officer Jim Ambras is responsible for driving the success of his Silicon Valley firm. Jim Ambras has held leadership positions in technology firms for over two decades. Ambras has conceived, developed, and deployed systems software and enterprise level applications for leading technology firms throughout his career. His technical skills and creative vision were also utilized in advanced research and development positions at leading technology companies.
Jim Ambras has overseen product development and successfully brought a number of disruptive products to market in a timely and cost effective manner. Ambras possesses a robust researching skill set, having investigated and reported on software development tools and methodologies in the private sector. Before founding NotchUp, Jim Ambras worked for Peerflix, a media sharing social networking site, as well as OnStation, a noted provider of automotive CRM solutions.
Earlier in his career, Jim Ambras was the Vice President of Engineering at AltaVista where he conceived, developed and successfully launched the AltaVista Live portal. Ambras was the VP of Engineering at the Zip2Corporation and played a key role in the company’s acquisition by Compaq in 1999. He has also managed software development and spear headed digital media at SGI. Jim Ambras studied Computer Science at Syracuse University, where he took his undergraduate degree. A passionate outdoorsman, Jim Ambras enjoys skiing, snowshoeing and mountain biking. He lives in Los Altos Hills, California.
